It's a tough sport, the game of golf, but ultimately it is a game that brings the best of us together. 2023's FUFA Invitational at Wine Valley Golf Course in Walla Walla Washington was no exception.
Friday's round was long, but riveting. Scores were high and emotions were higher. No team took a dramatic early lead, but the best of the best were already establishing their place at the top of the scoreboard.
Friday night's charity auction raised over five thousand dollars! What an incredible group of gentleman, all giving back to their communities, and the Seattle Children's Hospital.
Saturday's shenanigans were split into two rounds. The first was a 'shamble better ball' that left a wake of tears and broken hearts in it's path. Saturday's afternoon round was a 'select drive alternate shot' clash that rivaled the world's best bingo night battles.
In a heated final day of mono-y-mono match play golf, it came down to two teams. Team "Par Then Bar" captured 10.0 points but lost the tiebreaker (overall head to head points) to The "Walla Walla Wankers." Sean, Ryan, Grant, and Paul all shot their wads on the competition, but in the end, it wasn't enough to raise (arguably) golf's greatest trophy ever conceived.
Congratulations to Austin, Jason, Dan, and Pete are in order. Their names will be forever enshrined on the treasured FUFA invitational Championship Trophy.
FUFA has grown into one of the most sought after public golf private events in the Nation. 32 Men team-up into groups of four, clever team name in tow, and compete for the opportunity of legend.
